expand the requirements for Selective Service registration to women.

The 1981 U.S. Supreme Court case of Rostker v. Goldberg held that men and women were not similarly situated in the U.S. military because women were excluded from combat. However, in January of 2013, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta lifted the restriction barring women from combat duty. This means that for more than a year now, men and women have been similarly situation in the U.S. military. In the interest of gender equality, women should now be required to sign up for Selective Service when they turn 18 years of age to do their duty as American citizens.
