The war in Syria has created the largest humanitarian crisis that most of us have seen in our lifetimes. Millions of people have risked their lives fleeing violence and terrorism and are in need of homes.
The United States has a vast untapped capacity to welcome these refugees and a moral obligation to do so. There are thousands of private citizens willing to open their homes and communities to support these families as soon as the government allows them entry.
We refuse to be swayed by fear and bigotry in the face of this international crisis. Rather than close our borders and our hearts, we would like to EXPAND THE RESETTLEMENT PROGRAM to accommodate 100,000 refugees and to allow people to be housed in private homes as needed.
