The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is charged with protecting the consumer. “When consumers see or hear an advertisement, whether it’s on the Internet, radio or television, or anywhere else, federal law says that ad must be truthful, not misleading, and, when appropriate, backed by scientific evidence.”
The FTC’s mission in part is to prevent business practices that are deceptive or unfair to consumers; to enhance informed consumer choice and public understanding.
I am challenging the United States Government to take to task the barrage of political advertisements “selling” their candidate or “belittling” their opponent with unfounded deceptions and bring Truth in Advertising to the political arena.
