Expand the Virgin Islands Coral Reef National Monument, to protect it and the adjacent Virgin Islands National Park.

On 1/17/01, President Clinton established the Virgin Islands Coral Reef National Monument, which expanded the protections afforded Virgin Islands National Park, by preserving adjacent submerged lands. In the recent past, private developers have attempted to place a wedge in a gap between these Department of Interior areas; the US Army Corps of Engineers, the Fish and Wildlife Service, Environmental Protection Agency and National Park Service have taken stands in support of local sentiments to protect the fragile "area of significant concern" from polluting mega yacht marina development. Even if the development is prevented, mega yachts anchor in the currently unprotected areas, launching jet skis and powerboats which have easy access to adjacent protected waters.
