The whitehouse.gov 'We The People' petition mechanism is a modern and powerful way for citizens to be heard. It is limited in scope as seen in its Terms of Participation: "To avoid the appearance of IMPROPER INFLUENCE, the White House may decline to address certain procurement, law enforcement, adjudicatory, or similar matters properly within the jurisdiction of federal departments or agencies, federal courts, or state and local government in its response to a petition."
The White House should pressure federal departments or agencies, federal courts, and law enforcement to set up its own 'We The People' citizen petition feedback tool on their own websites so citizens have a modern way to interact with these agencies the White House is unwilling/unable to 'improperly influence.'
