Donald Trump is the presumptive nominee for President of the Republican party. He has claimed that he will release his tax returns for public examination after the IRS audit is complete. The IRS is an administrative arm of the federal government, overseen by the White House, and THAT audit is of considerable national significance. If his audit were given the highest priority possible, it could be completed within a short period of time, thereby satisfying his stated condition for release of those returns to the public.
