Expedite the execution process of death row inmates in the state of California

We, the supporters of this petition, claim there is an issue with the status quo regarding the process of execution for death row inmates. Too much money is spent housing and keeping these individuals alive while they await their sentences to be carried out. We move that death row inmates be limited to one direct appeal to the United States Supreme Court. If the Supreme Court rules that clemency be granted, the defendant is to be sentenced to life in prison. If the Supreme Court rules that the defendant be executed, the defendant is to be given two weeks time to make peace with themselves and family before being executed via lethal injection
