Dear President Obama:
The Trump Administration and the GOP-controlled incoming Congress have both expressed their intention to roll back multiple protections on transgender rights. One important step you can take is expediting legal gender changes at the SSA and State Department. This includes:
1) Expedite the process, making gender change requests an urgent priority.
2) Temporarily ban any rejection of gender changes because of a lack of concurrent name change.
3) Also ban the rejection of gender changes because of a lack of previous change with other offices.
This is a matter of extreme importance to people's civil rights, liberty, and personal safety. Please stand up for human rights before it's too late.
