Expel the State of Mississippi from these United States of America, due to its disproportionate reliance on federal aid.

For each $1.00 Mississippi contributes to the well being of these United States of America, it takes $2.47 from her Treasury. In these challenging economic times, this nation cannot afford to be bound to a state that is contributing so little, yet taking so much. Despite its receipt of incessant handouts from the Federal Government, Mississippi continues to maintain the highest poverty rate, lowest standardized test scores, highest obesity rate, and second highest homicide rate in this nation. It is time that the tax dollars of this nation’s citizens be directed to more prudent investments. We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, must hereby expel Mississippi from these United States of America.
