Explain to the American people why Marijuana remains illegal, yet alcohol and tobacco are not.

Created by J.G. on October 29, 2011

The Whitehouse released a response to our request for a real discussion on marijuana legalization. In that response, they dance around the true issue, citing health concerns and addictive properties as reasons to keep cannabis illegal. The people would like some clarity, here- if marijuana is to remain illegal due to it's effect on our health and addictive qualities, why then are alcohol and tobacco legal substances? Marijuana has been the direct cause of 0 deaths while thousands die each year from issues directly related to alcohol and tobacco, yet they remain legal.
