It is clear that the people of this site are unaware that 25,000 signatures on a petition does not empower them or require the government to do what they ask.
The reasons for this are, or SHOULD be, clear. Laws are passed by elected officials, and the point of it is allowing the majority of the people's voice be heard. 25,000 people, with no form of registration beyond putting a name down, Cannot subvert this process.
This should be obvious, and yet there are petitions like "Stop Ignoring us". People who demand Obama leave Office, for example, are ignoring the Plain fact that he was democratically elected by a majority of the people.
Please make this clearer for all those who think a online petition is, or should be, more important then the Democratic Process.
