The Department of Justice's own National Drug Intelligence Center estimates that drug-related law enforcement costs $61 billion dollars annually.
It is time to consider meaningful changes to federal drug policy. It is time to end the daily infringement on the right of the individual to choose for themselves. It is time to stop wasting money. And it's time to stop using coded language. It's not a "war on drugs." It's prohibition. Call it what it really is, and justify your continuation of these blatantly ineffective policies.
