The President would like to enact laws to "ban" certain types of weapons and capacities of magazines for firearems. The city of Chicago Illinois has a 100% ban on all firearms. You cannot legally possess one even for your own protection within the city limits. This petition seeks an explanation of how banning firearms and high capacity magazines across the country will decrease gun violence when EVERY TYPE of firearm is banned in Chicago and it also has the highest firearm homicide rate in the United States. Mr. President, if banning firearms in your home town does not reduce gun violence, please explain to us THE PEOPLE how banning specific types of weapons will reduce gun violence anywhere else.
