Mr. President, as a Department of Defense employee, I ask that you would please explain to us why, starting July 8, 2013, Department of Defense employees must take one day unpaid leave per pay period due to recent budget "cuts", despite the fact that we are spending $702 Billion more today (in 2013) than we did in 2008.
In 2008 we spent $2,982 Billion dollars
In 2013 we're spending $3,684 Billion dollars.
On top of that, we are spending $147 Billion more in 2013 than we did in 2012.
Mr. President, please explain where that $702 Billion went to, and why you can't find $85 Billion today elsewhere in the Federal Budget (outside the critical Department of Defense).
