explore and make change to how corporate contracts are made from top down, from health care corporations to needy doctor

Created by S.K. on October 27, 2011

For several decades now, Insurance Corporations (AKA Managed Care) have kept doctor and psychotherapist's reimbursement rates at low levels (some rates not changed or are lower than that of the 1970s). Overhead costs have gone up and these professionals have to work more hours seeing patients, taken on more staff to handle paperwork, or in some cases cannot afford staff and do the contrived paperwork themselves. This causes, burnout, distraction from the focus of treatment and compromises the attention needed to care for the patient and avoid harm. Reading & study time to integrate new science and ideas has been replaced by a constant stream of new "rules" from the top down. Mr. Obama needs to hear it from those doing the work and not from the Corporations that control the industry.
