explore ideas to make the metric system the official unit of measurement in the United States.

Created by C.R. on April 21, 2014

In the United States, we use a measurement system that is essentially obsolete in the world. Only three countries in the world have not adopted the metric system and those countries are Liberia, Burma, and the United States. Adopting the metric system will make international travel easier for US citizens going abroad and international travelers coming to the United States. It is also a simpler unit of measurement and could be easier for students to learn. Overall, this will put US more in-touch with the International community and use a more sensible measurement system.
