Explore non-military options to address the civil war in Syria, support efforts to improve the lives of refugees.

Created by S.S. on September 06, 2013

As we wait for further debate in the UN concerning the Syrian regime breaking international law, the US goverment should be primarily concerned with a humanitarian response to the thousands of refugees that are living in other countries throughout the region in makeshift camps. Before we consider a military respose that may lead to in the best case no real aide or improvement for the lives of Syrians, and in the worst case a rapid escalation of violence, lets provide aide to the people and explore other means of taking action against Assad. Surely we can come up with ways of stopping Assad's supply chain of weapons and money. We can find ways of opposing a murderous tyrant without creating a much larger war that could spread further in the region.
