1971 Pakistan army and its collaborators were involved in one of the biggest genocides of history. An estimated three million people were killed and raping more than 200,000 women within a short span of nine months.
The local collaborators, commonly known as ‘Rajakars’ were not only engaged in these heinous acts but also helped the Pakistan army to identify and kill the top intellectuals of the country.
After 42 years of independence, Shahbag demand for the maximum punishment for the war criminals who were involved in the genocide.
The government of Bangladesh has already received veiled threats from Turkey and The Muslim Brotherhood.
We urge President Barack Obama and his administration to express solidarity with the millions of Bangladeshis who are spontaneously demanding justice.
