Contrary to the media portrayal, teachers are over-worked and underpaid. We are highly "encouraged" to get advanced degrees to be highly qualified. Yet, with often times no raises for years, many educators are unable to pay these loans, and after repeated forbearances, these debts often double and triple.
Educators, if they have an Education major, and are active in this noble profession, should have their loans expunged as a public service.
