expunge non-violent felons of their drug crimes

Created by J.A. on February 26, 2012

I believe that felons with a drug crime history (selling in the 5th degree, possession of the 5th degree, etc) should have their records expunged if they are following probation and not USING drugs. Having a felony on your record prevents you from getting housing, but most importantly, getting a job. Gas stations even do background checks and won't call a felon in for an interview. There should be an interview process as to why you should have your record expunged instead of having to hire a lawyer to do so. If not, then why should felon have to pay taxes if they don't get equal rights like others? (ex. voting/having firearm/not be discriminated)
