For Chinese citizens working in the US, H1b visa is valid for one year. Upon entering the US, US Customs and Border Patrol officers decide the length of stay for each visa holder and stamp the validity of the entry on I94 form. Although Chinese citizens can legally work with expired H1b visa and valid I94 form, we have to obtain new visas if we leave the US and come back later. However, many workers' visa applications back in home countries were hold up for administrative processing. It's a tremendous inconvenience for both the employees and the employers. Countless wasted hours could be used to produce or create something that's good for the US economy, instead. We petition to allow H1b visa for Chinese citizens to be valid for 5 years and renewal while in the U.S.
