Congress has claimed to have "phased out" EUC benefits, but that is a flat out lie. Yes, the number of weeks were reduced for each state, however, those who became unemployed in the month of June or thereafter, will be eligible for $0 after their state benefits run out. Industries such as hospitality may be "recovering" in some markets, but not so well in markets where the economy has been hit harder. There are still several million hospitality workers, who are skilled and eager to work, out of work. There is not a need for 99 weeks of benefits, but that doesn't mean that all tiers of benefits should be halted at the same time, especially Tier 2! It is not fair for one person in Texas to be given 70 weeks to find a job, and then all of the sudden it drops to 26 for everybody else.
