Mr. President,
Currently, the long term unemployed, people who have been working for many years, are watching all they have worked for evaporate, as if their entire adult financial histories of good and prudent behavior were being erased and rewritten to describe them as good for nothing deadbeats because the Republicans in Congress want to score political points and don't care how many people's lives they have to destroy in the process. They block votes and seek to attach unrelated amendments, purely as obstructionist tactics.
Unemployment reform and the other issues don't need to be attached to this bill after a greater than three month lapse--and their fourth Congressional 'recess' this year. And at this late date, it would be technologically efficient to extend without changes.
