EUC was created in 2008 as a temporary way to help out people who were having trouble finding a job after their regular unemployment benefits ran out.
While the number of unemployed people has decreased, the number is still a large part of our society. These people are not lazy. They are not trying to screw over the government by taking money and not looking for jobs. These are people who cannot find jobs after MONTHS of looking, regardless of how great their resumes are.
By extending these benefits, an additional 200,000 jobs will be created and it will boost GDP growth by 0.2%. [http://www.cbo.gov/publication/44929]
To not pass this bill that will extend these benefits is cruel and unjust. Please don't punish these people and families.
