Extend the law allowing police officers to carry a weapon off duty to Military Officers.

Created by R.C. on December 23, 2012

Law enforcement officers are legally allowed to carry a weapon off duty because of their role as law enforcement. I propose the government extend this right to Military Officers. Due to the level of responsibility placed on military officers, their training, and role in our nation, they should be afforded the same right.
As military officers, we are federal officers, in that we are appointed by the president. We have the special trust and confidence of the president, we should be allowed to carry a concealed weapon so that we are able to defend our fellow citizens off duty should the need arise.
