Under new guidelines Retirees& Dependents must live within 40miles from base to keep TricarePrime. We need to change it to 60miles as that has alwsys been standard for locating provider to receive care. In higher codt of living or more rural areas 40miles is not always feasible. Tricare guidelines currently state that 60miles is reasonable for referral so why not offer tge same to our Retirees and their dependents for retaining Tricare P Prime vs forcing them into Tricare Standard with deductibles and coinsurance most cannot afford.
