extend refugee status to all LGBT persons seeking asylum from foreign government persecution.

Created by G.G. on November 17, 2013

Currently, sexual orientation is not included in the qualification for seeking asylum in the United States. In countries like Russia, where an anti-gay law has been enacted, many individuals of the LGBT community have been persecuted. We would like to follow in Canada's footsteps in providing asylum for those of varying sexual orientation through changes in the refugee law.
