Puerto Ricans are natural born US citizens. Residents of the island currently do not vote for the President due to its territorial status. Residents of the Puerto Rico do not elect congressmen due to its territorial status.
Congressmen answer to constituents of their respective states--in contrast, the President of the United States is the top elected official representing ALL CITIZENS of the United States worldwide, REGARDLESS off their place of residence.
Puerto Rico has been a US territory since 1898. Its residents have been Natural born US Citizens since the Jones Act of 1917--the draft of World War I.
The 4 million US citizens residing in Puerto Rico, in addition to countless US citizens residing in other US territories, all demand our right to vote for our President.
