Currently, in each state there are different statutes of limitation for prosecuting rape and/or sexual assault. The victims of such a horrendous crime however remain scarred for life. Dealing with issues such as PTSD while the assailant continues free from any prosecution if those statute of limitations have passed.
By extending these limitations to none, the victim has a greater chance of one day seeing justice and the chances of that assailant being able to walk free forever become limited.
