Extend Veteran funeral honors to Active Duty and Retired military spouses

Created by S.G. on December 09, 2014

The life of military members is often told on the TV, the big screen, or in books. However, the hardships that their spouses and children face are rarely heard about. If a member who served three years in the service is Congressionally warranted a funeral with a Veteran sequence performed by Honor Guard members, a spouse of an Active Duty or Retired member should also be warranted this service. Remember, when deployed, the military member ALWAYS knows how he or she is doing, whether dead or alive. The spouse, meanwhile, tries to continue on with life, many times taking care of their children, while hoping his or her spouse is still alive and well.
