An official petition platform like "We the People" is helpful for aligning elected representatives with the will of the people. But petitioning the White House for changes to legislation only has symbolic value; such powers are beyond the office of the President. It's our senators and congressmen who should see and respond to these petitions - we need a system to get through to them!
