August 21st, 2010. Laura Dekker set out at the age of 14 on a solo trip sailing around the world. It took two years for her to complete this voyage.
The voyage would later be made into a documentary titled 'Maidentrip'. It would hit select theatres and, eventually find it's way on to Netflix.
There is no doubt she was compensated for this.
The problem in question isn't that she completed the journey, it was that she said she was alone. As the documentary points out... Dun dun dun! She wasn't. At one point of the trip a friendly bird comes and hangs out with her. ALONE?
I demand that she be extradited to The US to face charges on Fraud.
I'm ashamed to have watched that. We must rise up to this fraud!
