Facilitate an amendment to the constitution making the popular vote the deciding factor of a presidential election...

Created by D.S. on January 25, 2013

In light of efforts to reform the electoral college in a way that will make it more likely to win the popular vote and lose the electoral college, and in light of the glaring partisanship of this effort and its clear defiance of true democratic process we ask the President to facilitate a congressional proposal to amend the constitution. This amendment would eliminate the electoral college, an election style seen as antiquated and contrary to democratic process, and establish the popular vote, consisting of votes from all fifty states and the District of Columbia, as the deciding factor of all presidential elections henceforth.
