Facilitate creation of a vaccination for the Zika virus and promote mosquitoto control efforts to prevent birth defects.

According to recent news reports, mosquitotos that carry the Zika virus range from San Francisco to New York, and as far north as Chicago. The Zika virus has been linked to several serious birth defecects, including microcephalic which causes abnormal brain development. A vacination for the Zika virus must be a high priority before over half the pregnancies in this country result in infants with severe birth defects. In addition, Congress must pass legislation to assist the states with mosquitoto control efforts before we have a costly epidemic on our hands. This is a urgent national health concern that we must get ahead of before the summer months.
