The situation in Iraq deteriorates by the day. Human rights violations are swelling in numbers and the conflict has already started to spill over into neighboring countries.
The long term consequences of unhindered ISIS/ISIL expansion will be widespread and deadly.
We as a nation owe it to the world to respect the ideology of "R2P" as well as prior promises to protect the people of Iraq in their transition as a nation.
Formalized support would require bi-partisan cooperation in a time where the public opposes confrontation, so I respectfully request the support to form a US foreign legion out of volunteers to fight in Iraq just as we had done in WWII with the American Volunteer Groups and Eagle squadrons.
