Prominent journalist and editor Mr. Mahmudur Rahman was arrested by the Bangladeshi government in an attempt to suppress his voice. Mr. Rahman, editor of Amar Desh newspaper, has been a vocal opponent of government corruption and an advocate for free speech. Mr. Rahman has published several articles which expose government corruption and judicial misconduct. A recent publication led to the resignation of a judge presiding over the war crimes tribunal. The judge resigned citing "personal reasons" after his private emails and Skype conversations were leaked to papers including Amar Desh
Because of this publication Mr. Rahman has been arrested and charged with sedition and "unlawful publication" by the Bangladeshi government. Release Mr. Rahman and end human rights abuse in Bangladesh.
