This petition aims to capture the attention of the international community and US leadership to a recent detention of Abdumalik Abdullojonov (former Prime Minister of Tajikistan) by the Ukrainian authorities at Borispol international airport on February 5, 2013 based on numerous allegations made by the government of Tajikistan. Most recently Mr. Abdullojonov resided in the United States and was on a wanted list of Interpol. In Tajikistan, he faces political trial, unfair treatment, torture, and even death.
The following are some of the official charges he faces: organizing a criminal group, the seizure of power, sabotage, terrorism, coupled with an attack on a government official, embezzlement of state property in large amounts, and others crimes.
