Fact:(1/100) < (1/10)- The first thing we need to do to get our economy moving again is switch to a 1/10 cent system.

Created by J.P. on March 12, 2013

The principle proposition is changing the way American money is used. Currently our financial system uses 1/100 cent system, basically that means we have the ability to divided a dollar in 100 parts. I would like to propose that we switch from the 1/100 cent system to a 1/10 cent system. That is, we stop making the penny, nickel, dime, quarter, and paper dollar and only make a dime (with a new design and name perhaps), a 50 cent piece, and a dollar coin.
Currently we are making pennies that are worth 1 cent but cost 1.6 cents to make, nickels that are worth 5 cents and cost 6.1 cents to make, and its costs the fed 500 million dollars just to replace 1 dollar bills that are lost/destroyed PER YEAR.
This change would also spark job creation, graphic designers, engineers, administrators...
