Everyday thousands of factory workers go to work in garment factories in Bangladesh. In these factories they make clothes for major American retailers such as Walmart and Target. Most people don’t know what is going on inside these factories and that’s why we are spreading the word. Many factory workers earn about 22 cents an hour. Although some want to, they can’t quit because it’s the best job you can get in Bangladesh. Safety is also a big issue in these factories. A few years ago over 1,000 factories were inspected for safety violations and over 80,000 were found. These factories are also affecting the environment in many ways in 2012 3.7 million people died due to air pollution in Bangladesh. Lastly, these workers need rights and we need to help them fight.
