The cost to taxpayers for Secret Service Protection of presidential candidates is , conservatively, $50,000 a day. Any presidential candidate that does not concede when they are no longer a viable candidate is a significant drain and waste of taxpayer's money. From the day after the last primary (June 14) until the Democratic Convention (June 28th) is 44 days. The total cost for secret service protection could be higher than $2,200,000. This cost must be born by the losing candidates campaign as this is a campaign decision. Please require/clarify that the losing campaign will be billed for this cost in an ongoing (daily) basis.
