fair juvenile sentencing. After 20 years ALL youths (17&under) go up for a parole hearing/rehabilitation. Retroactive.

Created by E.K. on March 24, 2014

Youths (17 and under) should be treated fairly, not being treated as an adult. Youths should be able to go up to a parole board or up for rehabilitation after 20 years no matter the crime committed. It is cruel and inhumane to lock a CHILD up for the rest of his/her life (40,50,60 years etc). Children that commit crimes shouldn't be in prison for life or be given an unreasonable sentence. Minors should be tried as minors, not adults, no matter the crime. Children deserve a second chance, not to be locked up and POSSIBLY let out after 40+ years of being incarcerated. This is cruel and unusual punishment for minors. The adults that are now in prison, who committed their crime as a minor, should be given a second look after 20 years and be given a second chance if the person has changed.
