There are many States that redo their district lines to suit their party’s needs. For instance, Madison Wisconsin's assembly district map looks like a child was playing with an etch-a-sketch. There will be a large area that is covered by one district with a two block radius cut out of the middle that belongs to a different district.
I would like to propose that a committee be assigned to redo all district lines. They would receive on each map one county, or state. There would be no defining information, and no voting records, just populations. I understand that the districts would not be cut into evenly sized squares but they should be more uniform than what we currently have. The only time a district should be cut into multiple pieces should be when there are islands involved.
