We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Fairer employment opportunities regarding background and credit checks.

Created by Q.R. on November 18, 2016

I think it's unfair to qualified potential employees to be denied employment for past offenses such as misdemeanors and also to be barred from employment for bad credit. How can can a person change their lifestyles when they are being judged for past behaviors. Have they not already been judged and rehabilitated during incarceration? Also it's ridiculous for a company to take credit history into consideration when hiring potential candidates. How can a person change his financial situation to better provide for his/her family if they are not given jobs because they have bad credit? In certain cases where these things would be taken advantage of there should be enforced policies but when a person is clearly trying to do better there should be laws to protect them from discrimination.
