From fast to organic, a change in South San Diego

Created by E.R. on February 20, 2016

Over the past couple of years fast food restaurants have recognize that consumers are now moving towards heathier and organic food choices. This issue has been seen in low-income, ethnic communities where nutritional value of available fast food restaurants are extremely poor in nutrition . In addition, the lack of access to healthier food alternatives has been directly associated with health issues such as obesity and overweight, which are contributing risk factors for chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. In effort to increase disease prevention and health promotion, we ask for your support to increase the amount of healthier and organic fast food restaurants that provide higher nutritional values instead of traditional process foods.
