Fast track approval of the CARERS Act which will reclassify marijuana from a Schedule 1 to a Schedule 2 substance.

Created by A.W. on March 10, 2015

On March 10, 2015 Senators Rand Paul, Cory Booker and Kirsten Gillibrand introduced landmark legislation onto the Senate floor that will end federal prohibition of medical marijuana. This common sense proposal works to fix a confusing and contradictory legal environment regarding medical marijuana. With recent acknowledgement from the U.S. Attorney General that there is "some" medical value in marijuana, it would be reckless of our elected officials to not classify marijuana in accordance with this top medical experts opinion. It is a human right violation for the U.S. Government to deny states the ability to obtain and prescribe a medication that is literally saving lives every single day.
