More than 1,500 people a day die due to Cancer in the United Sates, Cancer is the second leading cause of death. We can institute laws to make these numbers decrease. Carcinogenic products such as Carrageenan should be illegal. Carrageenan is often used in products to make them appear fuller, It has been found to cause gastrointestinal inflammation which can be dangerous to young children. I recently attempted to start a boycott in my school, after drinking chocolate milk twice a day for two weeks during school much like the other students. I started noticing I felt ill, One day it came to my attention that the ingredients in the drink were Carrageenan, Corn Starch, Vanillin. After doing some research I found that Carrageenan was banned in the European union.
