The Federal Bureau of Investigations should share its database as it relates to animal abusers with the public. No national animal abuser database is currently available in the United States. While jurisdictions might maintain their own animal abuser databases, such databases are regional. An animal abuser's record does not follow if he /she moves from one jurisdiction to another. Since the FBI already includes animal abuse in its national criminal database, the work has been done and that information should be shared towards the goal of eliminating cruelty to animals nationwide. Animal cruelty is an anathema which brutally contradicts the shared goal of a civilized, humane, community. The availability of the FBI database will work greatly towards the elimination of animal abuse.
