On Monday July 13th, 2015 Sandra Bland, a 28 year-old black woman from the suburbs of Chicago was found dead in a Waller County, Texas jail cell. The circumstances sorrounding her death are at best unclear and given known facts, are very distrubing. A video of her arrest has since circulated onto the internet and we see Ms. Bland lying face down, the male officer has both knees pressed down on top of her back.
We can clearly hear her say:
"I can't feel my arms!"
"I can't hear!"
"You slammed my head into the ground! I'm a female. Dont you care you slammed my head into the ground?"
We the undersigned, petition the White House to open a federal investigation into the death of Sandra Bland.
