Federal Pay Increase

As a federal employee in your congressional district, I am writing to ask
you to cosponsor, S. 2699, the FAIR Act, which would provide federal
employees with a 5.3% pay increase for calendar year 2017.

Over the past six years, private sector wages have increased 10.6%
according to the Department of Labor, and employers across the country
continue to increase pay in order to address recruitment and retention
needs in a recovering economy. During these same six years, federal
employee wages have only risen 3.3%, with federal workers enduring a
three-year pay freeze, three years of below-market pay increases, and no
increases to locality pay for a total of five consecutive years. Despite
