We are asking for congress to consider enacting policy expanding law enforcement retirement to all GS-0083 police officers, whom are charged with Law Enforcement and Security Missions on DOD installations across the United States of America. Most GS-0083 Police Officers do not fall under OPM definition of Law Enforcement and are not currently entitled to Law Enforcement retirement. These Police Officers are required to take annual physical agility tests to maintain jobs, but are not allowed to retire until their designated OPM Minimum Retirement Age (MRA), in most cases is 57 years old.
Many Police Officers are forced out of their jobs only years away from retiring and forced into lower paying jobs as they can no longer pass the agility test. These officers deserve 25 year retirement.
